Monica L. Guzman

Monica L. Guzman, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology in Medicine in the Hematology and Medical Oncology Division at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Guzman's research program focuses on developing therapeutic strategies for improving CAR T cell therapy in hematologic malignancies. Her laboratory also uses flow cytometry and next generation sequencing approaches to evaluate residual disease. Dr. Guzman collaborates with physicians and industry to translate laboratory findings into clinical trials. Dr. Guzman is the Assistant Director of the Office of Access and Excellence at the Meyer Cancer Center, Chair of the Representation and Inclusion Committee at FOCIS, and a vice-Chair of the IUIS education committee. Her involvement in mentoring, dissemination, education, and research demonstrates her dedication to this cause. Dr. Guzman has received numerous awards and recognitions. 2010, she received the NIH Director's Innovator Award and the V Foundation Scholar Award. In 2020, she was listed among 100 inspiring Hispanic/Latinx scientists in America.
